20.05.2011 Enterprise Estonia supports 6 international
culture events and 11 international conferences held in Estonia with 640 000
euro in total (including international sports events). The support scheme is
co-financed by European Regional Development Fund.
Early morning flights from Tartu to Tallinn are
operated six times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
and Saturdays. Late evening flights from Tallinn to Tartu are operated on the
same days, with the exception on weekends, when Saturday flights are operated
on Sundays instead. The flights are operated with the 33-seater SAAB 340, the
flight time is 45 minutes.
The Society of Biblical Literature has announced Tartu as their host
city for annual international meeting in July 2010. 500 delegates
are expected to attend on this 5days meeting on 25.-29.July. Estonian
Convention Bureau and Tartu Convention Bureau are pleased with the result as TCB has been working on
the conference since autumn.

According to Estonian Convention Bureau there were 47 international conferences held in Estonia in accord with criteria set by ICCA (more than 50 delegates per meeting and at least 3 nations represented) in first half-year of 2009. Additionally, there were 64 conferences with one or two nationalities represented. Totally, 10 524 foreign delegates participated on conferences in Estonia during mentioned period. ECB gathers statistics from conference centres, all hotels with meeting capacity 50 upwards, and conference organisers (PCOs/DMCs).
Estonian Air will start operating between Tartu and Stockholm from
24 August 2009 four times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and
Sundays. The flight time is one hour and 30 minutes.
"The Monday and Friday flights offer great opportunity to get to Tartu, both from Europe and from Swedish domestic flights. Sunday flights provide convenient connections from Tartu via Stockholm to for instance Milan, Vienna, Franfurt, Oslo and Berlin," said Rauno Parras, Estonian Air’s acting Vice President Commercial. "The flight on Thursday connects in Stockholm with many European destinations for both departing and arriving passengers," Parras added.
